Finally, in Ortigia, near the south of Sicily, we wandered through narrow alleys with ornate balconies adorned with tiny gardens. We cut through stately mansions and grand piazzas, and gobble up hot streetfood even if full from our afternoon meals. Such is a slow pace of life that we got to savor in Ortigia, a place we want to return back to sometime in the future.
Here is one such alley shining under the bright moonlight.

Moonrise over the Mediterranean
Moving from the stark peaks of the Dolomiti to the azure blues of the Mediterranean was a jump in landscape, light and lifestyle. Here in Sicily, the pace was slower but richer. Every breath brought in a fresh and different aroma, and every sight was of a new vista of a village hugging a rocky coastline. The town of Taormina settles for the evening under a vibrant sunset and bright moonrise.

Deserted Alleys
With travel now opening up generally, where are you planning to go next? What are your fondest travel memories?
I still fondly remember walking down narrow alleyways of the walled city in Chefchaouen where every door, walk, step and adornment was dunked in a rich blue color. After immersing myself in the hustle and bustle of a working medina during the day, I returned back early the following morning to capture the place in silence, where the only sounds were those of a barking dog and a crowing rooster.

The Dark Lord Rises
Every October, some of the most fanciful balloons gather in the high desert landscape of New Mexico. Chariots and lighthouses fly shoulder to shoulder with bees, dogs, hearts, and the occasional Vader. I wish I could go back and relive my time there.

Chasing the Wheel
Four years of living in this city, and this sunset was my first attempt at capturing this enigmatic wheel that dominates the wharves and docks of the downtown. I was seeking the the optimal slice of twilight to capture the vibrant lights against the blue-red gradient.
As I continued capturing multiple exposures, I wondered what the spectactors of this wheel of light were experiencing at that time. Perhaps as much joy as I was feeling.

Light in the Dark
This lighthouse was commissioned over a 130 years ago to help ships navigate the narrow channels of the Puget sound. Its remarkable that the the original structure still remains today, and still serves as an active aid for traversing the canals of Elliot Bay. And it serves as a great subject for sunset photography in urban Seattle

Ready to launch
January in Seattle isn't usually known for clear skies and colorful sunsets. But this January has been quite different. Sunny weekends with colorful skies at sunrise and sunset, fresh powder in the mountains, and clear weather made for an enjoyable winter. While returning from a hike, I spied this beautiful sunset over the skyline, with the Space Needle seemingly ready to launch into the orange clouds.

A cap on Mount Tacoma
Happy New Year Folks
Over the last few weeks, I have been traveling outside of my PNW home, and what I had been missing the most is seeing the snow-capped summit Mount Tacoma rising above the cityscape of Seattle. There are quite a few places in Seattle to capture this iconic scene. A popular one is in the Queen Anne neighborhood of Seattle, which is my go-to choice for shooting sunset. This time, however, I chose to head to a different park to capture the last light on Rainier
