Lighting a firefly

Free time this summer has been largely spent on processing 3 year old images from my archives. And 3 years ago, I paid a visit to the Albuquerque Balloon Festival. The first step of that process involves filtering out the good ones and deleting the rest - and it is a rather tedious job as a lot of the images are very similar (I have started becoming more selective in what I shoot, as a consequence).

As I was working my way through a couple of folders, this one image caught my eye. An act of a misfired shutter caught a stranger's hand just as he was trying to take a photo of his own - and it was the juxtaposition with the balloon being fired upon behind which actually delighted me. A chance misfortune created this happy coincidence.

And this is how you light this firefly!
